The Illinois Housing Development Authority has announced the “Illinois Hardest Hit Program” which offer temporary help to homeowners faced with unemployment or underemployment to catch up on their payment and save their home.  For details and to apply go to www.illinoishardesthit.org or stop in City Hall for more information if you are not able to use the Internet.  The funding is in place for a limited time so please apply as soon as you can.

With the chill in the air, our thoughts move to the winter season.  Just a reminder once the snow flies, citizens cannot move snow into the city streets and please observe the snow route.  Also, I received a memo from Superintendent Opsal and he reported the wind turbines will be turned off periodically this week for routine yearly maintenance.

Don’t forget to attend the lighting Christmas Parade on December 10.

We may not be able to continue as a drop off site for UPS.  We are now being told the City of Geneseo will be required to purchase the franchise.
